Installation and usage


How do I add the camera to the Alcidae App?

  1. Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4Ghz Wifi Bandwidth network.
  2. Create an account and login to the Alcidae App
  3. Select the “+” button on the app to add a device
  4. Select which device you are trying to add
  5. Confirm your Wifi is a 2.4Ghz network and input your correct Wifi password, then click next.
  6. Wait for the app to search through the Wifi and find your camera
  7. Once found, select the “add” button and name your device
  8. After all these steps are completed, your camera live feed should be showing on the home screen of the app.

How can I set up Motion and Sound Alerts?

You can change the sound and motion detection sensitivity levels by

1. opening the app and pressing on the still image of the camera to open up Live View
2. In Live View, press the Gear icon on the top right corner of the app
3. Then press on Security Settings to access and modify sound and motion detection sensitivity levels

Low sensitivity detects large objects (people or animals)
High sensitivity detects small objects (insects)

*IMPORTANT Be sure that all app permissions and notifications for the Alcidae app are allowed

How can I turn off Motion and Sound Alerts?

Please navigate to your device settings by clicking on your device video screen and then clicking on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen. From there please click on security settings and then on motion detection. You can alter your security settings from this interface or turn them completely off.

How do I delete my camera from the app?

  • To Delete the Camera from your account (or release the camera from your account)
  • Login using your old account (old phone number or email address)
  • Press on the still image of the camera you want to delete (this will open Live View)
  • Press the gear icon on the top right (the phone/tablet must be in vertical position)
  • In the Device Settings screen, Press the Delete button on the bottom of the Screen
  • After Releasing/Deleting the Camera, you can pair the Camera to another account.
  • Alternatively, I can release the device, once you provide me the old phone number or email address that is linked to the camera (you can provide that to me here)
  • Please unplug the device so I can release the device (You must have physical access to unplug the camera, the camera has to be turned off and offline for me to release the camera)

How do I save video from cloud or SD card to my phone?

  1. *IMPORTANT Garager is not compatible with SD cards
  2. Go to playback button "Cloud with a play icon" and press play to play video footage that you would like to save.
  3. When you are done recording press record button again
  4. Then press on the little box on the bottom right of the video to access and then press Save
  5. This will save the file to your phone
  6. You can save video footage for as long as you have space on your phone

How do I set up an SD card?

You can record to an SD card if your camera has an SD card slot
You will have to reformat the card before you can use it
First make sure the SD card is in the camera before you follow these steps.
Open the Alcidae App, for the Camera that has an SD card installed

1.) press on the camera still image to bring up live view
2.) press on the top right gear icon
3.) press Advanced Settings
4.) press Restart & Reset and press format SD card

Then go back one screen to Advanced Settings, then go to SD Card Settings to create a schedule
This formats an SD card installed in one camera and sets a schedule for recording on that camera

How do I sync the camera time and app time?

  1. In the Alcidae app, on the screen where you see your camera live view, click on the camera box.
  2. You should be on the Live Feed page of the camera, in the top right hand corner of the screen is the settings gear icon, click on it.
  3. Select on the Time zone option, then click on sync local time zone ; this should sync the camera to your phone's time.

How do video recordings work?

  • You need either an SD card compatible device or Cloud service to see video footage for sound and motion events. (Garager2 only offers cloud service, not compatyible with SD cards)
  • Cloud Service is 7 days, 24 hours. All day for 7 rolling days.
  • With an SD compatible device, video recordings can vary based on the size of the SD card, it can hold up to several weeks or more.

How do I reset my device?

  1. In order to reset the device please locate the button in the back of the camera, usually next to “reset” or “set”.
  2. Press and hold the button for 10 seconds, until the camera says, “reset success”.
  3. After this the camera LED should go from steady red to blinking red.
  4. This means the camera is searching for a network to connect. Then it’ll blink blue meaning it is trying to connect.
  5. After it is added successfully the light will be a steady blue light, meaning it is now connected.
